Welcome to MS Readathon in the ACT

Hello everyone,

2008 has been a fascinating year so far for the MS Readathon! A huge thank-you to parents, family, friends, and teachers of 2,456 children across the ACT and surrounding regions of Riverina, south-east and south-west NSW children (includes Batemans Bay, Queanbeyan and Wagga Wagga). Collectively, these children read more than 24,979 books to help make a difference to the lives of Australians living with multiple sclerosis (MS).

Sponsorship funds are still arriving and present figures put the ACT in a strong position. Over $188,000 has been raised to date and with funds still being processed, this figure is sure to climb. Nine-year old, Cameron Cox from O’Malley, ACT is the highest fundraiser in the Territory and also the 2nd highest fundraiser nationally reading 23 books and collecting $16,097.95 in sponsorship. Students at Radford College ensured their school was the highest fundraising school by reading 377 books and collecting more than $18,500 in sponsorship. Trinity Christian School in Wanniassa ACT had the highest number of participants who completed the program (46).
