Reading

What can I read in the MS Readathon?

  • Reading is fun isn’t it? Check out the What to Read page for a list of all the things you can read in the 2008 MS Readathon.
  • Remember to write down on your Record List how many books you read, as well as all the time you spend reading, so you can earn cool rewards and help change the lives of people living with MS.

What about books with chapters?

  • Wow, you sure are clever to be reading chapter books - well done!
  • Why don’t you take part in our timed reading which means counting how long you spend reading?
  • This way it doesn’t matter how many chapters are in your book (there can be heaps and heaps of them!), just how long you spend reading it. It’s simple and a great way to help you earn rewards!

Can I read books with large type and lots of pictures?

  • Read books at your usual reading level and at your own pace. The MS Readathon is about having fun as you read for an extra reason.
  • If an adult agrees with the book you choose, then that is OK.
  • If large picture books are really too young for you, they probably shouldn't count. Ask Mum or Dad and they'll let you know.
  • Any books are good books really! In fact, our special mascot Bosko reads everything he can get his little yellow hands on. And if he can’t read it, he’ll usually try to eat it!
