You may have noticed that the highest fundraiser in Tasmania this year was Sarah from Burnie. 16 year old Sarah, read 50 books during June in her 6th MS Readathon. Much of Sarah’s efforts involved door knocking after school, so the $3015 raised represents many $5 donations from the kind people of the North West and a lot of walking by Sarah. When asked what motivated her to raise funds for the MS Readathon, Sarah said, “there are a couple of reasons for my passion. Firstly we know two people from our church who have MS and also because I also have an illness that has no cure, so I like to help others”.
In other news Margate Primary has been announced as the State highest fundraising school in Tasmania. Well done everyone at Margate.
The winner of the Village Movie Passes was Travis from New Norfolk who raised over $100.
One lucky person who raises over $100 in this year's MS Readathon will win 6 tickets to Village Cinemas. Thanks to Village Cinemas for this wonderful opportunity, just imagine taking 5 of your friends to the movies or perhaps taking the family along for a day out. You can check out what is on at your local Village Cinema at www.villagecinemas.com.au
