The very special partners, supporters and sponsors who have helped support the 2007 program.

MS Readathon Schools Incentive Promotion

  1. This Promotion is being conducted by the MS Readathon 2008 held by Multiple Sclerosis Australia (ACN 008 515 508) (MSA).
  2. Information on eligibility and prizes form part of these Terms and Conditions. Entry into the Promotion confirms acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
  3. The Promotion commences at 9.00AM (EST) on Thursday 22nd May 2008 and finishes at 6.00PM (EST) on Friday 12th of September 2008.
  4. Eligibility in the MS Readathon Schools’ Incentive Promotion (Promotion) is restricted to:
    1. Schools and educational institutions that have students participating in the MS Readathon 2008 (MS Readathon). Entry is open to schools and educational institutions in Australia only.
    2. Girl Guides groups who have registered members participating in the MS Readathon. Entry is open to Girl Guides groups in Australia only.
    3. Scouts Australia groups who have registered members participating in the MS Readathon. Entry is open to Scouts groups in Australia only.
    4. Libraries who have library members participating in the MS Readathon. Entry is open to libraries in Australia only.
    5. Entry may be granted to other organisations or groups with members participating in the MS Readathon at MSA’s discretion (Authorised Group).
  5. Employees and contractors of the Promoter and/or MSA, the Promoter and/or MSA’s related companies, agencies associated with this Promotion, and their immediate families are not eligible to enter.
  6. To be eligible for the MS Readathon Schools’ Incentive Promotion, the following criteria must be fulfilled. The entrant must:
    1. be a school, educational institution, Girl Guides group, Scouts Australia group, library or Authorised Group;
    2. have a minimum of 30 children registered in the MS Readathon 2008;
    3. have 80% of students and/or registered members who entered the MS Readathon 2008 for that school or educational institution complete the MS Readathon 2008 and return the completed forms, receipt book[s] and all money raised to the MS by 6.00PM (EST) on 12th September 2008; and
    4. have been nominated by the participating student or registered member as the “benefiting organisation” for the purposes of the Promotion. The student or registered member must nominate the entrant as the Benefiting Organisation when registering for the MS Readathon. Students may only nominate one Benefiting Organisation for the Promotion.
  7. Entrants are not required to complete or submit an entry form. Entry will be automatic upon meeting the requirements for entry.
  8. Each entrant is only eligible for one prize, regardless of how many students and/or registered members complete the MS Readathon and return the sponsorship booklet and all money raised to MS Readathon.
  9. The total prize pool available is valued at AUD $75,000.00, according to the table below.

  1. The Promoter is not responsible or liable for any change in the value of the prize occurring between 22 May 2008 and the date the prize is claimed.
  2. Prizes are not transferable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash. In the event that any prize is unavailable, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value or to pay cash.
  3. Any taxes which may be payable by the winner as a consequence of a winner receiving the prize is the sole responsibility of the winner.
  4. The Promoter makes no representation or warranty as to the quality, suitability, merchantability of any of the goods or services offered as prizes.

Notifications

  1. The Promoter makes no representation or warranty as to the quality, suitability, merchantability of any of the goods or services offered as prizes.
  2. Successful entrants will be notified by telephone or mail by 5:00pm (EST) on Friday 17th October 2008.

Receiving the Prize

  1. Prizes will be delivered to the school, educational institution, Girl Guides group, Scouts Australia group, library or Authorised Group on or before Friday 14th November 2008.

General

  1. Entry into the Promotion is free.
  2. Incomplete entries are void.
  3. All entries are the property of the Promoter.
  4. The Promoter may at any time disqualify an entrant or refuse entry of an entrant if:
    1. the entrant fails to comply with and/or these Terms and Conditions;
    2. the entrant is engaged in practices which subvert or intend to subvert these Terms and Conditions;
  5. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  6. The Promoter is not liable for, and the entrant releases and holds the Promoter, its officers, employees and agents from, any and all liability, loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered or sustained, to persons or property (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss), arising from or in any way related to the Promotion, or using or participating in, the prize.
  7. If for any reason the Promotion is not capable of being conducted as planned, including but not limited to, infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, human error, technical malfunction or any other causes beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Promotion, the Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any person involved in the tampering of the entry process, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Promotion.
  8. The Promoter is not liable or responsible for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation of transmission, communications line failure, theft, destruction, technical malfunctions, unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries.
  9. The Promoter is not liable or responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, software or failure of any entry to be received by the Promoter on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website or any combination, including any injury or damage to any entrant’s or other person’s computer arising from or related to a entrant’s participation in the Promotion, or the downloading of materials in relation to this Promotion, or an entrant’s inability, difficulty or failure to access any electronic site in the Promotion.
  10. The Promoter may at any time disqualify an entrant or refuse entry of an entrant if:
    1. the entrant fails to comply with and/or these Terms and Conditions;
    2. the entrant is engaged in practices which subvert or intend to subvert these Terms and Conditions;
    3. the Promoter determines that an entrant is tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Promotion.
  11. Where requested, the winner must sign and return any liability release provided by the Promoter as a condition of the prize being awarded. If the winner fails to sign and return any such release, the winner forfeits the prize.
  12. The winner irrevocably consents to the use of its name, suburb for promotion and marketing purposes and agrees to participate in promotional activities and such other publicity as requested by the Promoter and MS without additional compensation (financial or otherwise) unless prohibited by law.
  13. The Promoter and its related entities and MS are collecting personal information for the purpose of conducting this Promotion and for direct marketing purposes. Personal information may be disclosed to supply partners and other persons involved in the conduct of the Promotion and/or direct marketing. If an entrant does not provide all personal information requested, the entrant will not be able to enter the Promotion. The entrant may access his or her personal information by contacting the Privacy Officer at the Promoter. All personal information is handled in accordance with the Promoter’s Privacy Policy.
