My Story
This August I'm going on an epic journey of discovery for one incredible cause. I'm reading as many books as I can in August to raise funds for families living with MS and neurological conditions.
My mum shared with me that my Gran's close friend lived with MS for many years and declined at a very early age, unable to care for her young son and husband. She was in a nursing home for full time care, far too young, eventually passing from this debilitating disease. She was only in her forties. Such a heartbreaking and unfair life for this beautiful family. This cause really means a lot to us and bringing awareness to "Young Care Homes", so that the young can live with others their age, whilst living with their degenerative diseases. This brings so much comfort to their families, to know they are supported in the most suitable living environments.
Money raised from the MS Readathon will help fund vital support and services, which include Help Lines available across Australia, MS Nursing, in-home care, speech therapy and physio, Family Fun Days including resources for kids.
