My Story
This August I'm choosing to tackle my TBR shelf and read for a cause that's close to my heart.
On the 8th of August 2023 I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, joining thousands of Australians currently living with MS and other neurological conditions. The money raised from the MS Readathon will help fund the vital support services that enable people like myself to navigate life with our diagnosis. This past year in particular has shown me just how overwhelming mentally, physically, financially and socially living with chronic illness and disability can be. Without the support provided by these services it can become almost impossible to actively participate towards our education, career, relationship and personal goals. These services include nationwide helplines, MS nursing, physio and speech therapy, family support groups, family fun days and camps, NDIS plan management and much more. From experience I can see just how important these services are in providing a peace of mind not only to the individuals but also their families.
