The MS Readathon FAQs

I am a parent with multiple children, how can we get everyone registered?

Each participant requires a unique email address to register. Our system treats the email address as the unique identifier, meaning that we need one email address per registration to be able to set up a fundraising page for each child. For children that do not have an email address, or parents that do not have 2 email addresses they can use, we suggest using an offline email to get through the registration process, such as name@offline.com.

If you would like assistance with completing these registrations please feel free to give us a call on 1300 733 690 and we can assist you.

Can I register multiple children under one email address?

Unfortunately, no.

I am a teacher and can't register all my pupils at once, what can I do?

The MS Readathon required parents to register their children. There are many reasons for this, one of which is privacy. Each participant requires a unique email address to register. For children that do not have an email address, or parents that do not have 2 email addresses they can use, we suggest using an offline email to get through the registration process, such as name@offline.com.

If you would like assistance with completing these registrations please feel free to give us a call on 1300 733 690 and we can assist you.

I have registered my child in the wrong school or class.

No problems, get in touch with us and we can move them to the correct class or school for you.

I have shared my fundraising page on Facebook but have not received the badge?

So that our system knows you have shared your page on Facebook you must share it via your dashboard. Unfortunately, if you simply post to Facebook, not through our system, we won’t be able to allocate you a badge unless you contact us.

Do you have any resources available to help teachers?

Yes, absolutely! Please check out the resources section of the website.

If we aren’t registering with a school or class can we register as a team?

Unfortunately not at this stage. However if you are registering as part of a different organisation for example scouts or a youth group please contact the MS Readathon team and we may be able to set this up for you.

Do my individual donations tally to my school/class?

Yes! As long as you have registered as part of a class or school, your donations will add to your class or school tally.

How many books do I have to read?

As many books as you can in the month of August. Books can include comics, magazines, picture books, text books, novels. Anything you read, log as a book!

When do I start reading?

You can start logging your books read for the MS Readathon from August 1st! You can start reading earlier, but technically, the MS Readathon is to read as much as you can, throughout August.

What is the MS Readathon?

The MS Readathon is all about kids helping kids! Read as much as you can in August and raise funds for kids who have a parent living with multiple sclerosis.

Is there a fundraising minimum?

There is no fundraising minimum, we encourage you and your family to raise as much as is doable for you. This could be $25 or $250. The most important thing is that you have fun making a difference for kids who have a parent living with MS.

How do I get my certificate?

There is a blank certificate you can download and print on the resources section of our website.

How can I enquire about a school visit?

We have amazing ambassadors who are able to come to schools and encourage students as well as share their story of multiple sclerosis. For more information on ambassador visits head to the school visits section of the website.

How do I personalise my Avatar?

As you hit fundraising milestones you will be sent an email with a link to update and personalise your Avatar! Make sure you do this with your kids, as they love selecting their accessories!

The fundraising milestones to achieve are:

1. Get your first donation

2. Get halfway to your fundraising target

3. Meet your fundraising target

What badges can I collect?

We have 11 MS Readathon badges and you can read about these as well as our customisable Avatars on the Badges section of our website.
