Barney and the Secret of the French Spies

The story is about a boy called Barney Bean. His mother was a convict they were sent on a ship to Australia. He met Elsie in Paramatta Sydney NSW they became friends. Then the Johnson’s adopted them. Barney was given some land and While he was away building a house and growing crops he got word Elsie was very sick. He travelled to see her and she told him the story of how she got to Australia. Elsie was born in France, Her mum and her dressed as men so they could travel to different countries and study plants. Her Mum and Dad got attacked and died. Barney asked her to marry him. A French ship came and there was a letter from Elsie’s great uncle . Show more Show less
