Good start to a new series didn't love it as much as thought I would but will see how the series progresses.
Great book! Really loved it. Look forward to reading the rest of the series.
The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones takes a bildungsroman (coming of age) theme and is written from the perspective of a young girl called Clary Fray, who, on her 16th birthday discovers that she is part of a secret race of the Angel Raziel’s children called Shadowhunters and that her mother knew about this and was keeping it a secret to protect her. Everything that she thought was true is proven wrong and her life is tipped upside down.
I really enjoyed this book as it had a funny, interesting storyline (and love interest), a great climax, and a shocking conclusion. I loved how I got to discover things about Clary’s life as she discovered them and learning about secrets that her mother was hiding before falling into an enchanted sleep. I really loved Cassandra Clare’s style of writing and I would definitely more of her books. Show more Show less
