A heart breaking, humbling and often humorous telling of our horrid history in WA. Alf Taylor’s autobiography describes his experience as an indigenous boy, raised at the New Norsia settlement. He speaks with fluidity and passion of his fears, hopes and dreams and explains how the fear of God instilled a hatred of religion and a longing for his people, his country and his land.

Alf describes the insensitivity and impoverished injustice within the church, and how greatly this affected his belief in goodness, leading him to addiction, displacement and also the power of his spirit returning him to his love of writing, his gratitude amongst the chaos of injustice; to share with humour and child like vision all of his experiences.

A fabulous read.
