I think Locked out Lily is an adventurous and very entertaining book. It is about a girl named Lily Wilson who just wanted things to return to the way that they where before, before she got ill, before her parents decided to have another child.
Lily lives in an old (and a teensy bit scary from the out side) house with her parents, until she got sent away to live with her grandmother while her mum has the baby. But Lily is determined to get back home, not expecting to find strange people in it that look a lot like her parents, but are most definitely not.
In this book Lily faces many challenges and fears but can only overcome them with help from her friendly animal companions: a mole, a mouse, a snake and a crow, and of course their crazy ideas. Will Lily be able get the courage to break into her own house and defeat ‘The Replacements’ before it’s too late? You’ll have to read it to find out what happens!
I believe that Locked out Lily, by Nick Lake is an incredibly awesome story with lots of twists and turns. Emily Gravett adds to the amazingness of this book with her brilliantly moody illustrations which add to the heart pounding suspense and excitement.
I couldn’t put this book down and would definitely recommend it for children aged 9 and up.
Thank you for reading my review of another awesome book, I can’t wait to tell you another.Show moreShow less
