I loved the adventure with the main character Annemarie! I recommend this book for readers between the ages of 8-12. A great read!

This book is based in Denmark. there is a girl called Anne-marie who has a Jewish friend called Ellen. In WW2, the Nazis invaded Denmark and were searching for Jewish people. One of the best parts was when Ellen's parents have to go away so the Nazi's won't find them, and Ellen stays with Anne-Marie. The soldiers raid their apartment looking for hidden Jewish people wearing the Star of David. Anne-Marie asks Ellen to remove her necklace but she can't as it is welded shut. Anne-Marie rips it from Ellen's neck and holds it in her hand while the Nazis seach the house - this saves them. It's a very nice story. Show more Show less
