Songbird

Songbird is book about a girl called Jamila,her mother and baby brother. She migrated to Australia from Iraq, because in Iraq there were bomb attacks and it wasn't safe to live there anymore. Her dad was still in Iraq hiding from the constant attacks.But now she has come to Australia. A new place a new country and a school for her.
This book made me happy and sad at the same time. Jamila and her mother braved the challenges they faced settling in a new country. Show more Show less

Jamila is a girl who has moved from Iraq, her home country, where there are bombs and soldiers roaming the streets. Jamila has to leave her Baba (her dad) at home and her best friend Mina. They move to Australia where everything is different and her life changes. Jamila’s Mama does not have very good English and it makes it hard to do simple tasks like go shopping.
