Esme is growing up with her father working on the updated dictionary but notices some words are not included. As she grows up Esme begins her work on continuing the completion of the dictionary.

I was so excited to read this! It has become one of my most cherished books. Beautifully written and all historical facts carefully collected and spread throughout the book. The writing style ages wonderfully with the characters. This book addresses all kind of emotions during a time when emotions were generally hidden, and describes them beautifully. I have rediscovered a love for words and found a new kind of respect for where they come from and their importance. Such an amazing read, and I'm holding myself back from re-reading it immediately!
