Bridget, a popular travel journalist, is given the opportunity to ghostwrite the late Nicole Dupre's unfinished sequel novel.
Bridget uses Nicole's diary for research and sets out on going to the places that inspired Nicole's previous book eith Nicole's widow, Charlie and daughter April.
I think Toon's style of writing is great but I really wish I read this before reading Verity. The similarities distracted me from really enjoying this.
I also couldn't really connect with any of the characters. I found the whole "asking people for a piece of your heart" thing a little childish. So that part of the book was a bit of a bore for me personally. Along with Bridget's inability to move on from her DOZEN ex boyfriends, I found it a little unbelievable that someone who was a travel journalist/wrote a blog would be asked to finish a best selling novel.
And Charlie? Didn't seem like a swoon-worthy character to me. According to the story, he's good looking but there's no depth to him.
Depsite that, the setting was interesting. Loved the idea of Hermie and Bridget travelling to Thailand.Show moreShow less
