With such an interesting storyline, I went into this hopeful. It certainly started off well.
However, unfortunately, as a romance, it missed the mark for me. I wanted more romance. >
I felt as if Clara's character was underdeveloped. I often found myself wondering if she was actually 19 instead of 27.
I also didn't buy into their "love". It felt very surface level, and because there was no depth to their relationship, their lustful scenes were insufferable.
The family expectations also felt like an after thought to give the characters "problems".
While my review is mostly negative, I didn't actually mind reading this. The writing style was great and makes it an easy read.
