I bought this book purely for the cover. I won’t lie.
Then I heard about it through the grapevine and the expectations went up.
And I’m not sure what I think about this story, it was nothing like what I expected, not to say it was bad. However, I spent most of this book confused and wondering what was happening, left wondering “when is it really going to start”
By the end still confused but this time it was purposeful gobsmack moments by the author that are leaving me wanting to go and buy the second so that i can continue Mara’s story.
Mara is written as a likeable character and I really enjoyed following the story from her perspective, all her family was written beautifully and you could see the bond they all have!
Noah Shaw was what you expected but also had that extra bit that made you go awww you’re sweet.
In the end I am looking forward to continuing Mara’s journey and finding out what is happening and where it’s going to lead.
