WARNING: Contains sex scenes and profanity so definitely one for grown up participants!!!!
If you’ve read Sophie Kinsella’s ‘Shopaholics’ series with Becky Bloomwood then you’ll enjoy ‘The Undomestic Goddess.’ I thought this book was written about me LOL It’s set in England about a young workaholic lawyer, Samantha, applying for partnership within a top law firm in London. Distressed and disoriented after making an administrative mistake that costs her partnership, she accidentally winds up in rural England. She is mistaken as an applicant for a housekeeper position when she wanders into a mansion to ask for directions and takes on a job as a housekeeper.
If you’re looking for some light hearted reading and humour then this is the book for you. I found myself giggling as Samantha faces each stumbling block whether it’s turning on an oven, opening the ‘Nimbus 2000’ model ironing board or trying to make seared lamb foie gras when her cooking repertoire is limited to toast. Equally as amusing to read are the tactics she uses to save face and face these obstacles head on.
Without giving too many details away, this book is also highly recommended for those who enjoy romances and good triumphing.Show moreShow less
