This book is about queer witches and magic which sounded fantastic. Set in Salem, Massachusetts and involving the Book of Shadows and runes, it seemed like the perfect read.
However, me reading this book ???... it was extremely plot driven, too fast paced as everything that could possibly happen happened and I felt there were some plot holes.
I felt like there wasn’t enough decent clue dropping to be satisfied with the mystery part of the book. I also found the protagonist to be really annoying, and some other characters [there were many] weren’t convincing enough in their own traits.
That being said, the writing itself was enjoyable and what I expected of a young adult novel. I did love all of the coven and witchcraft parts of it, and obviously the queer rep. I’ll probably still read the sequel!Show moreShow less
