When can we start reading, logging books and fundraising?
Now! You can start reading, logging books and fundraising as soon as you register.
Share your page to your entire network and start smashing goals.
This will give you a head start on all the great things in store for August.
Is there a fee to sign up?
MS Readathon is FREE to register! FREE, FREE, FREE.

and you can start fundraising straight away.
Can I log the same book more than once?
YES! We know how good some books are and that you may want to read them multiple times. You can log the same book each time you read it. For some of our younger readers, repetitive reading helps the learning process.
Who can participate?
MS Readathon is open to everyone!
We have parents with newborn babies sign up and count the books they read to their babies.
We have grandparents sign up and count the books they read themselves and to their grandchildren.
Mums, Dads, kids, schools, adults and book clubs can all participate.
You can even ask you local library to sign up and host some reading days.
How can I participate? Is it all online or can you still do it in person?
We have set up the MS Readathon so you can participate completely online, paper free.
Or you can download and print the resources from the resources page.
You will need to register online first to access these resources.
You can get posters, Sponsorship forms, Reading Tallies and much more to download and print off from the resources page.
You can also reach out to our team to get your own unique banking reference and take your cash into the bank to deposit into the MS Readathon bank account.
Registration
Can i register all my children as a family?
YES!
Click the Register button and select MY CHILDREN TO READ (purple tab) to register 2 to 5 children.
You will need to register as their parent/guardian first and add a 'family name' and add the children in the following steps.
I just have one child. how do i register?
Click the Register button and select MY CHILD TO READ. It is that easy!
How do I add an extra child, once i have already registered?
Already registered. Not a problem. Just login to your dashboard. You can do everything from here.
At the bottom of the parent dashboard there is an + Add Another Child button.
Once you have added another child, you will automatically be turned into a family team!

Can I register as a adult?
Click the register button and select 'MYSELF TO READ' dark blue tab for adult (18+ years old). You can create workplace teams here too.

Afterall, we were all kids once. Why not tap into your inner childhood and signup.
I am a Teacher/Principal. Can I register my school?
YES! Click the Register button and select MY SCHOOL OR KIDS GROUP TO READ if you're the primary contact of a school or kids' group.
This will make you an admin. You won't get your own fundraising page but you will be the captain/leader of the team/school.
You will not be able to see any personal details of anyone who joins under your team/school but you can decide if your team/school is open for anyone to join, or by your invitation only.

When can we start fundraising?
Immediately! You can actually donate to yourself through the registration process.
You can share your fundraising page to start raising funds at the end of the registration process!

How do those sponsoring me online get their receipts?
The best part about your fundraising page is that when your friends and family make a donation to you online, a receipt will be automatically issued to them by email.
What is the final date for fundraising?
The website will close for fundraising on the 14th September 2025
My work wants to donate by bank transfer. How do I arrange that?
Contact our team on 1300 270 036 or msreadathon@ms.org.au.
They will issue you a unique reference number and give you the bank account details so we can add the donation to your fundraising tally.
The Cause
What is 'MS and Neurological conditions'?
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is one of the most common diseases of the central nervous system and impacts more young people in Australia than any other chronic neurological condition. Examples of neurological conditions like multiple sclerosis (MS) also include Parkinsons, dementia, epilepsy, motor neuron disease (MND), stroke, and many others.
How many families in Australia are living with MS?
There are over 33,000 families in Australia are living with MS - a rise of more than 8,000 families since 2017!
How many families affected by neurological conditions in Australia?
There are more than 7 million families across Australia are living with a neurological condition! That means almost every person knows someone with a neuro condition.
General
HOW DO I LOG BOOKS?
It is super easy!
Once you login into your dashboard you will see a button to log your books. Select log books.
WHAT BOOKS COUNT TO MY READING GOAL ?
All books counts.
Whatever you read between the date you sign up and the end of August can be counted.
You can read a book more than once and you get to count it every time you read.
You can listen to and audio book and that counts
If you can read braille, these books count. and P.S. that is a super cool skill to have.
HOW DO I CLAIM MY REWARD T-SHIRT?
It is super easy! Just watch this video.
Once you login into your dashboard you will see a red button in the middle of the page to claim your t-shirt . Select Claim t-shirt and follow the prompts.
You can choose the option to cover the cost of posting your reward.
**make sure your address is correct before completing the transaction** there are a limited number of t-shirts available and replacements cannot be sent.
How do I select a school after registering?
Here is a video to show you how.
Tools are in your dashboard. Login in and check out your dashboard page.
Customise your Avatar? Here's how!
Log in to your dashboard and you can select a different avatar.
Once you hit different fundraising levels you will unlock new customisations.
Just click the 'customise your avatar button' on your dashboard when it is unlocked. Sometimes this may take 24 hrs to pop up.
Then select the options you would like for your avatar and background.
Hit Save and you are done!
Raised $50? You can claim your t-shirt reward. Here is how.
Log in to your dashboard and your 't-shirt claim' should pop up in the middle of your dashboard.
Sometimes it can take 24hours to pop up.
T-shirts will be sent out in batches this year. We are aiming to make sure we get all shirts to participants for the main reading month of August.
