Day 3
Tonight Mitchell read I'm not a Bear. He loves this sensory touch book, and getting to pretend to be different animals.Bradley tonight decided he was not going to go to sleep and just keep reading book after book. I made the mistake of opening his wardrobe door just long enough for him to see the shelf of too young, or too old books. He decided he loved his books I thought he had outgrown. So he picked:
That's not my Tractor, That's not my Plane & Bluey: Let's Do Christmas!: A Magnet Book. I thought for sure after all those books being read twice (once by me, then attempted by him) that it would be bedtime. Oh was I wrong. We then found Spot's Baby Sister hiding under his pillow and after that he grabbed Flat Cat. He was finally yawning through the 2nd reading of Flat Cat and not long after he passed out. When that kid doesnt want to sleep he finds all the excuses in the world. It was just book after book tonight.
Day 2
Tonight the little one and I read I am not a bear. He made all the animal sounds and jumped around the room pretending to be a bunny and a frog. He grabbed a dinosaur toy and RARed at me, giggling as I pretended to be scared. We went back and forth in the book between the animals (mainly because he still wanted to be a dinosaur). Lots of fun was had.The other one read Spots Baby Sister again. Going page by page repeating the words and following along with his finger. He seems to really like spot at the moment, but the same can be said about many charaters. Another good night of reading.
Day 1
Mitchell had a great time reading a dinosaur book. Each page he made the sounds the popup dinosaur would have made. He made the best sounds for Mosasaurus, swimming sounds, bubble sounds and still roaring.Bradley was very involved with the Bluey Wackadoo! book. It has buttons for key words so I told him to repeat each word he heard and he had a ball doing that. Then we read the Spot book and he told me everything that happens on each page. Not quite reading but our plan is continuous exposure to simple books hopefully he'll catch onto some words.
