MS Readathon complete for 2026
The boys have officially finished the MS Readathon and we couldn’t be prouder! ❤️
We set a goal of $300 and smashed it, raising an amazing $655! And together they logged 93 books throughout August! 📚
More than anything, we’re so proud of the motivation and passion they showed for reading. So many times, they were the ones reminding us that we needed to get a book read! 😂
Our regular library trips were a highlight, and we discovered some awesome authors that the boys really love. It’s been so nice to watch their enjoyment of books and different genres grow.
Those 93 books don’t include the countless re-reads of favourite books…especially the million times we read , The Book That Grown Ups Get Wrong, by Rove McManus, this was the clear favourite of the Readathon.
A huge THANKYOU to everyone who donated and supported the boys. It means so much to us that they’ve learnt they can support others by doing something they love. ❤️📚
1 week to go
One week to go of August and we have almost hit our goal of 31 books each. The boys have loved trips to the library, something we have made a weekly routine. We read books almost every night before bed but on the days we go to the library with Nanny we always get an extra 10 or so books read. The MS Readathon has been a good challenge for reading but it has also encouraged our weekly library routine which will continue well after August.10 day update
We have been doing a lot of reading the last 10 days. Between Mum, Dad, Nanny and Nanna the boys have read 11 books each. They love reading them multiple times so we may have logged 11 books each but we have definitely read each book at least 2-3 times each. We have been doing library trips so the boys can pick new books which they are loving. The hardest part is having to return the ones they love because they get very attached.August 1st Day 1
We went to the library this week and the Boys picked multiple books each to kick off their Readathon challange. Last night we sat down before bed and read 4 books. Some of the books were a little bit out of the boys age range so we talked about the pictures and what they could see. They have a keen interest in reading about feelings and how people are all unique and different. We took a photo each to kick off our first day ❤️❤️❤️Your support helps kids fall in love with reading
