I worked in my son’s school lib as a volunteer and then as a part staff. I love helping children find books that connect them to something beyond themselves especially when it’s shared as a family thing. Try the Redwall series, it’s British and great storyline that has action, friendship, community and life lessons too. Great read aloud stories if you do that with your parent. Good luck but don’t think you need it.
